Crimson Trace Chestnut Lasergrip LG-405-P20

This is the new "Chestnut" Crimson Trace Lasergrip for the Smith & Wesson J-Frame, designated the LG-405-P20. Don't you just love them. These are two finger grips, with a black rubber overmold around the front of the grip and a black rubber recoil reduction pocket on the rear backstrap. The chestnut color really sparkles and is sure to shine your gun up.

The two finger grip is highly concealable, easy to draw, great to grip with the fine checkering, and good looking. The color is deep and rich, unlike the burlwood design of the LG-401-P1. That, plus the fantastic Crimson Trace Laser Diode makes a terrific package to give you an edge up on the bad guys.

Like many Lasergrips, the pressure activation switch is located directly below and behind the trigger guard, on the front of the Lasergrip. It activates easily with minimal pressure with your normal shooting grip. I want a pair of these.

Crimson Trace LG-401-P14 Chainmail

A lot of the images you will see of Crimson Trace's new Chainmail Lasergrip for the 1911 style semi-auto's don't really show what this Lasergrip really looks like in person. I've seen many pictures of the Lasergrips and thought they had a nice design, but here at the AcuSport Trade show in Ft. Worth, TX I was able to see how awesome they really are.

The LG-401-P14 Lasergrip is made for full size 1911's and the LG-404-P14 is made for Compacts. What a Lasergrip they have developed. In person, the Lasergrips have a more silver, chainmail appearance than I had seen before. I really like them, they would be especially "Striking" on a dark gun. The texture of the grip is excellent, so you can maintain a firm grip on these babies. The fit and finish are flawless and imho are one of the best examples of the fine craftsmanship you'll see from Crimson Trace.

New Products

Crimson Trace has a number of new products becoming available the end of this year and for next year. Many of our customers have been asking about some of these for years and will be delighted to see they are finally here.

The dates of availability are moving targets, so if they aren't available on those dates, just give them time. Also, keep in mind that availability dates are when Crimson Trace will have them available for wholesalers to purchase. Retailers like Shooters-Resource.com may not be able to have them available on our web site for up to a month later. My experience is that the projected availability dates are seldom on time and may run several months late due to production snafu's. The important thing here, is that Crimson Trace is a world class company with a world class product. They don't want to make the product available unless it meets their rigorous standards. The last thing they want is for the product not to perform properly.

We received a large supply of the new Crimson Trace Lasergrips and you are going to love them. The grips fit Glock models 17, 17L, 19, 22, 23, 31, 32, 34, 37 and 38. *All models must have front strap finger grooves and thumb rest (scallop in side panel of the frame).

All the features Glock enthusiast have been asking for are in these grips.

First, there is a new skeletonized design that maintains the grip ergonomics. Based on the design of Lasergrips for the Springfield XD models, the Glock grip feel is the same.

Crimson Trace Modular Vertical Foregrip Now with Green Laser

"Wilsonville, OR -November 1, 2009: Crimson Trace announces an addition to the revolutionary modular vertical foregrip, the MVF-515 Green that now utilizes both a green laser and a white light in one unit. Both light sources follow the Crimson Trace mantra of instinctive activation for ease of use. Suggested retail price is $649.00.

Given the popularity and usefulness of green lasers, Crimson Trace has waited until the Crimson Trace engineering team was able to solve the two banes of green laser technology: The first one, heat, which shortens the laser diode life and second, high power draw, rendering green lasers useless in a matter of minutes. The engineers at Crimson Trace have overcome both of these detriments by utilizing the latest technologies into the new MVF-515 Green.

On October 26, 2009, Crimson Trace announced they are adopting a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy effective November 15, 2009.

The terms of the policy are confidential; however, the effect is that we are prohibited from advertising our low prices because they are too low to be advertised, and MAP means there is a Minimum Avertised Price (MAP) that is permitted.

As a result of the MAP policy, you will notice changes on our web site in how we sell Crimson Trace Lasergrips.

Firearms Industry Outlook

It's interesting to look back at the effect the Obama administration has had on the firearms industry. What folks call the black gun bubble. These are primarily AR style rifles. The bubble started around November 2008, and peaked in April 2009. By June I was seeing lots of black guns available again. The bubble didn't have any affect on Shooters Resource. Since we primarily sell Crimson Trace Lasergrips, we saw very little impact. We had a huge December which we attribute to the Christmas season. In January sales slacked off a bit, and in Feburary they picked back up and peaked in April. We attribute this cycle to the traditional discretionary income increase caused by Income Tax Returns, plus some stimulus money becoming available to everyone.

Here we are now, in the traditional Summer slack for the firearms business, preparing for the Fall increase. It's just around the corner, so it's time to start thinking about those products you want that just might get scarce again.

Am building a fire pit in the Summer to use when it starts getting colder. Found a sawmill bandsaw type blade on the old farm, hitched the tractor to it and drug it up to the RV so I could use power tools on it. We have a 7500 watt generator in the RV so I can connect most power tools to one of the RV electrical outlets.

First, I used the circular saw with a composite metal cutting blade to cut the saw blade. That went easy enough and I soon had two sections of blade I could use. I then drilled two holes in the ends of each blade. Well, lets say I tried to drill the holes, and I tried again and again. Talk about hard metal, that saw blade was tough. After ruining several drills, I was finally successful.

Dianne and I then took each blade, formed it into a 4' diameter circle and joined the ends together with bolts. We then set one circle on top of the other, and pounded away until one was inside the other about an inch. We set it into a cleared firepit circle recessed 3 inches into the earth.

Since then I've been gathering stones to set around the metal. It's going to be nice on a cold evening.

We are in our RV in NE Oregon near Baker City for the Summer at some property we own here. I just can't believe how how it is. evenings, nights and mornings are cool because it is a high desert climate, but by noon it is the desert, just hot, hot, hot.

I know I shouldn't be whining, but darned, it just sucks the energy right out of you. And I ask for a little breeze and what do I get, wind, lots of wind, it can sometimes catch you by surprise and it's easy to lose your balance.

So I've found that if I want to do any work outside, I do it in the morning, then come in and work on the pc and stuff. When it gets hot enought, we succomb to turning on the Air conditioner, so I guess I don't really have it all that bad. :-)

RECALLS

First, we had a recall on the LG432 for the Sig. Those Lasergrips were all replaced and we have the new corrected LG-432's.

Next, we had a recall on the LG442 for the Charter Arms. It is projected that the new corrected Lasergrips will become available around the first part of September.

MVF-515 Available

First Again.

We were successful once again in being first to bring a new release to you. Sales have been HOT for the MVF and we only have a few left, so get yours now or it may be a while before they are available again.

Like all new releases, CTC only makes a short production run to test the waters. If the results of the production are good, then larger production runs are made. If the demand is high for the product, it can cause long wait periods for customers eager to obtain the product.

We don't know when we will be able to get more MVF's. It all depends on when our distributor receives more and how many we're able to get from them. We're competing with all the other dealers you know, in obtaining inventory for high demand, limited product.

January 14, 2009 :: Wilsonville, OR - Crimson Trace announced today the co-release of new Lasergrips for Ruger's new LCR light compact revolver, developed in parallel with the gun for public display at the 2009 SHOT Show in Orlando, FL. We are flying down to the dealers gun show this weekend and selecting our products to stock for the next year. As your know, our primary product is Crimson Trace Lasergrips. We also sell an add on product, the Laser Chase Pet Toy, which is a laser pointer that pets just love to chase around.

At the show we will also be looking for a new product to offer. As with our current line though, it is going to have to be a top notch product and be at the right price. So, check back with us and see what new and exciting product(s) we may come up with.

Here is our first image of the new Crimson Trace Laserguard for the Glock.

This one fits the Glock 19/26/36 (23,25,27,28,33,32,38,39). I've heard so many times, why don't they make a laser for my sub-compact 45. Well here it is, and it fits more.

The Laserguard for the Glock is designed to fit in the same manner as those made for the small KelTecs, Ruger LCP, and polymer Kahrs. It fits on and in front of the trigger guard. That's why they call it a Laserguard instead of a Lasergrip.

It makes for a great design with a pleasing appearance and minimal holster interference. You get the same Crimson Trace quality as with the Lasergrips. With this Laserguard you also get a master on/off switch - just press the logo and you can practice with the laser on or off.

Firearms safety is up to you !

1) Handle all firearms as if they were loaded!

Never forget that a gun has the potential to produce serious injury or death in a single instant of carelessness. Make safe gun handling a habit to be followed at all times. After you determine that a gun is unloaded, continue to handle it as though it were loaded.

2) Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction!

In selecting a safe direction, you must also take into consideration that a bullet can ricochet or glance off any object it strikes, and that bullets can penetrate walls, ceilings, floors and windows.

Remember: You should never point a gun (whether loaded or unloaded) at another person or at yourself.

3) Keep your finger out of the gun's trigger guard and off the trigger until you have aligned the guns sights on a safe target and you have made the decision to fire!

By keeping your finger completely outside the trigger guard until you are aimed at the target, you guarantee that any shots you fire will go safely in the direction of your intended target.

4) Always be certain that your target and the surrounding area are safe before firing!

Remember that a bullet can travel as much as several miles, so you should be certain of what your bullet could strike before you pull the trigger. Never fire at a movement, a noise, a flash of color or a rustling bush without positively identifying your intended target.

5) Whenever you handle a firearm, the first thing you should do (while keeping it pointed in a safe direction with your finger outside the trigger guard) is to open the action to determine whether or not the firearm is loaded!

If you do not know the proper way to open the action of a particular firearm - do not handle it. Instead, consult the owner's manual, your local gun dealer or a more knowledgeable shooter. Do not experiment

6) Thoroughly read the instruction manual supplied with your firearm!

Never use any firearm unless you completely understand its operation and safety features. If you do not have an instruction manual, contact either the retail store where you purchased your gun or the manufacturer directly and request that one be furnished to you.

7) Before firing your weapon, you should routinely make sure that your firearm is in good working order and that the barrel is clear of dirt and obstructions!

Any obstruction that prevents the bullet from moving easily down the barrel can cause pressure to build up in the weapon. A small bit of mud, gun grease, excess lubricating oil or rust can cause pressure to build up to the point where the barrel bulges or bursts upon firing, resulting in a damaged gun and serious bodily injury to the shooter or those around him.

8) Only use ammunition recommended by the firearm manufacturer, and always be certain that the ammunition matches the caliber of your gun!

Most modern firearms have their caliber designation stamped into the barrel (for example, "9x19" or ".45 Auto") Your box of ammunition should bear the exact same designation. Just because a cartridge fits into your gun does not mean it is safe to fire. Firearms are designed, manufactured and tested to standards based on factory loaded ammunition. Hand-loaded or reloaded ammunition deviating from factory specifications should not be used. Use only the correct ammunition for your firearm. Attempting to fire even a single improper bullet can destroy your gun and cause serious personal injury or death.

9) Quality ear and eye protection should always be worn when shooting or observing!

Exposure to the noise of gunfire can permanently damage your hearing if protection is not worn. Shooting glasses, preferably with side panels, help to guard against eye injuries from ejected cases and the splashback of peebles and fragments from the backstop.

Wearing eye protection when disassembling and cleaning your gun will also prevent eye injuries from loosened springs or other parts, as well as from aerosol solvents and cleaning agents.

10) Never use firearms while under the influence of drugs or alcohol!

Handling and using a firearm requires your full and continuous attention, alertness and unimpaired judgment. Avoid handling firearms while taking prescription medicines which can make you draw drowsy, slow your reflexes and impair your normal senses or judgement.

11) All firearms should be stored unloaded and secure in a safe storage case, inaccessible to children and untrained adults

12) The transportation of firearms is regulated by laws. Always transport your firearm in a safe, unloaded condition and in accordance with applicable laws.

Remember - no set of rules can cover all possible situations. The safe and rational use of a firearm depends on the common sense and proper training of the user. Always follow safety rules and think before using any firearm

LG-432 Update

Finally got my supplier to order the Lasergrips from Crimson Trace. Talked with my contact at Crimson Trace who said they received the order. Of course it will take a little while for it to get filled and shipped and then made available to retailers. I expect it may take 2 weeks.

That's the best I can do at the moment. All other suppliers I've contacted are sold out or can't get them.

LG-432 for Sig 380

Boy am I frustrated. Competitors have been able to find suppliers who were able to get the LG432 and I haven't. I working on this daily. My primary supplier did not buy the product (DUH!), and since I was relying on them to have it, other suppliers commited to other dealers.

I working hard on this. I have 16 customers so far who are relying on me.

Hope everyone likes the updates we had done to the site. We made the look and feel consistent throughout and easier to navigate.

We added bright red buttons to the menus; we even added a Customer Review feature at the detail page for each produt. You can now comment about the product, our service, what you like or don't like and even assign how many Stars you think the rating should be. I like this feature a lot because it gives real feedback to those interested in a product.

We also started this blog where you can ask questions or discuss Lasergrips. I definitely don't know all the answers, but I'll give you the benefit of what I do know.
